Austin Garrett Bettersworth
As a young boy, Garrett loved to tell and act out stories. This hunger to bring fiction to life drove Garrett to the stage. At age 12, Garrett secured his first lead role as the Genie in a Jr production of Aladdin. The feeling of being on stage and performing in front of an audience was intoxicating. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the art of acting.
Stage / Theatre
Garrett’s passion for acting began on the stage. He has performed in many different types of theater productions such as musicals, contemporary-plays, Shakespeare and other classical texts. Garrett has assisted with the production and directing of several stage shows. He has choregraphed and acted as a stunt coordinator on shows like Cats and Romeo and Juliet. He was recently hired to direct the Lion King for the New Braunfels Performing Arts theatre company in Texas.
My passion for acting
Garrett Strives to “find truth under imaginary circumstances” in order to bring an engaging and entertaining story to the audience. Garrett also believes in the sharing of information between fellow actors. As a teacher Garrett wants to gift the next generation of actors with what he has learned on his own journey so that acting as an art can evolve and become more engaging for future performers and audience members. If you ask Garrett what he loves most about acting, he will tell you that it is the delivery of the story to the audience - what an amazing experience.
